She also had the opportunity study breast genetics at its origination prior to gene mutations being identified. She has received a diploma from the School of Breast Oncology in Atlanta, Georgia, after completing intensive certifying course and exam.
Dr. Stebel is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Diseases, The National Consortium of Breast Centers, The International Society of Risk Management for Breast Cancer, The American Society of Clinical Oncology. She has received a certification as a clinical breast examiner.

She has presented many seminars for training breast cancer survivors who go on to volunteer to newly diagnosed patients.

In her interest of education, please contact Dr. Stebel if your group in interested in a presentation regarding breast cancer treatment, prevention or genetic testing.
PHILOSOPHY
"Breast cancer is not a disease of one organ system. It affects the entire person, partner and family". To this end, Dr. Stebel spends a tremendous amount of time with the entire family discussing how this diagnosis affects the dynamics of the family and ways to cope. I don't believe any other cancer has such social implications and life-long changes.
